Hi all, as per previous post, ensure correct DPF additive is fitted as Citroen have used 5 different fluids (not all are Eolys) and advise that they are not compatible with each other. You will find further details on the compatibilities via a site search on this forum.

Nov 13, 2016 · The Grand Picasso 1.6 HD1 takes a 5w-30 C2 Low ash oil!! Not a 5-40. This could be why you are getting problems and if it's not a C2 spec you will have to say bye to your DPF and quite possibly your engine.

A shorter version of the text: In July 2018 (164 000 km) the fault code "FAP filter saturated - P1490" appeared for the first time. Diagnostics in an authorized workshop didn't reveal any problems. -DPF removed for cleaning with Wynns Off Car DPF cleaner and replaced. Used Diagbox to tell it there was a new DPF.-Checked Glow Plugs and found one to be open circuit. Replaced-Dropped the Eolys tank and the bag in there is about half full, which tallys with Diagbox that was saying approx 1.3litres left.

But apparently the dpf is getting clogged. So that apperently means the system might not work with the p1351 error, or simply that the dpf need changing. But i will try to change the glowplug that is faulty. Properbly before i change the dpf, also need to find the diagbox option to tell the ecus that i changed the dpf.

Actually, it won't do any good to drive it carefully. The dealership will find the root of the problem and fix it. I had the same problem twice, with two different problem sources. Fixed it both times. The dealer also told me to be careful with the quality of the fuel

The setting will be either in the repair section, or by running a Global test then selecting the engine ECU from the displayed ECU list after it finishes. Select this and then there will be various menus which should include one for the additive reset.

I have had 2 Citroen C4 Grand Picasso's (2008 and 2009) and now have Peugeit 5008 (2013) all diesels and all driven around town most of the time with very few long runs.
Sep 15, 2021 · A long drive may allow the DPF to perform a full cycle and burn off the particulates that are trapped within it. But this will not be a permanent fix if the car is used for lots of short trips. If the long drive doesn't resolve the problem you may need to have the DPF cleaned or replaced.
